JOB Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MPI Level 2 Inspector to join our Quality Control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) on a variety of materials and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and Canrig specifications. May also need to perform dimension inspection and other QC duties when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct MPI tests on various materials and components to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities.

· Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and specifications.

· Prepare inspection reports and documentation detailing the findings and results of the tests.

· Ensure all inspections and tests are conducted in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.

· Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, test results, and maintenance of equipment.

· Perform routine maintenance and calibration of MPI equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.

· Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality control, to address any non-conformances or issues identified during inspections.

· Perform receiving inspection, 100%-dimensional inspection and final inspection of parts and documents in accordance with Canrig and External standards when needed.

· Validating that assembly adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements.

· Other ad-hoc duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from a college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certified MPI Level 2 Inspector in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A or Equivalent standards.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a MPI level 2 inspector

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced inspection methods.

Experience in Magnetic Particle Inspection.

Able to review material data and determine acceptability.

Tests products for a variety of qualities (dimensions, performance and mechanical or electrical characteristics)

Provides inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.

Prepares quality control specifications for project components.
