JOB SUMMARY

Provides management the support and technical assistance needed for the administration of and compliance with Canrig's health, safety and environmental program and accident prevention with activities to include post-accident case management (workers compensation). As a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Leader, you will support the Company and Employer in ensuring the Health, Safety and well-being of our workforce by eliminating conditions that could lead to fatalities and permanent impairment and by ensuring the protection of the environment where we operate to support the decarbonization of our operations. The HSE Manager will support Facilities Maintenance and Project activities to ensure deliverables are executed in alignment with the HSE program. This role will be instrumental in defining our industrial Hygiene approach and developing processes to sustain the program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage the business unit HSE management system.

· Supports and assists line management in the implementation of Canrig's HSE policies and mission.

· Performs work site hazard assessments, identifies unsafe acts/conditions or unsafe behaviors, provides recommendations for corrective action to management team.

· Provide support to Manufacturing and equipment services operations to eliminate hazards.

· Plan, implement, coordinate and supervise HSE activities during facility maintenance and project activities.

· Support the selection and coordination of Suppliers, Contractors and Subcontractors involved in major maintenance, construction, remodeling and project activities.

· Conducts company safety and OSHA mandated training classes and maintains records, as required.

· Participate in safety meetings.

· Assist teams in the implantation of the HSE Risk Management processes (i.e. HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessment, etc)/

· Manage and provide safety related training, meetings and seminars.

· Provide support to incidents, environmental incidents and regulatory issues, e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc.

· Provide support to the Emergency Response Team in an emergency or disaster situation.

· Manage the inspection and maintenance of fire suppression equipment.

· Provide support for incident investigations that are work related injuries, near misses, environmental and/or equipment damage.

· Maintain incident statistical data.

· Maintain regulatory required forms such as OSHA 300 Log and TIER II Report and provide to regulatory agencies upon request.

· Manage the Canrig business unit workers compensation program.

· Act as a company HSE Leader for the facility.

· Conducts HSE audits.

· Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum AAS in Health and Safety, and 5 years QSHE experience in manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in English. Ability to read and write, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Spanish proficiency is a plus as a small percentage of the workforce speaks English as a second language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

General knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, E-Mail messaging, and manufacturing/inventory software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver's License

Valid Passport

ASP or CSP, OSHA CHSO OR SHEP

Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) desirable but not required.

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) desirable but not required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federalrules and regulations.

  • Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of OSHA VPP Compliance Program\Advises safety director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.

  • Plans and implements training for employees in work safety practices.

  • 5 years of hands-on HSE experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Exposure to or experience in managing Industrial Hygiene programs.

  • Experience supporting Facilities Maintenance and Project work from an HSE prospective.

  • Maintains safety files and records.

  • Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have beenimplemented.

  • Assist, set up and conducts training.

  • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) is a plus.

  • Experienced in Industrial Hygiene, monitoring exposures and administering medical surveillance programs.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) is a plus.

  • Assist and maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, SPCC etc.

  • Prefer experience in OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent Computer, communication, and training skills.
